Widsanupong Noonan earned a first-class honors bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from the Department of Visual Arts at the Faculty of Architecture, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang. He subsequently pursued a master’s degree in fine arts, focusing on visual arts (painting), at Silpakorn University. In 2012, he started his role as an adjunct lecturer at King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang. He is currently an independent artist working full-time.
Widsanupong Noonan is fueled by creativity. He embodies the spirit of a dreamer and a doer, perpetually in pursuit of the value and beauty of art concealed within diverse narratives. His works frequently delve into themes of human interest, turning those concepts into artworks that evoke emotions that are challenging to express. His creations enable viewers to directly experience these emotions. Throughout his career, Noonan has garnered a multitude of awards, starting with his primary school years. From 2008 to 2010, Noonan won the following notable awards: 2nd Prize in Contemporary Painting at the Panasonic Awards (10th edition); Young Artist Support Award (25th edition); selection for the 1st Lotus Star Project; Creative Arts Scholarship from the General Prem Tinsulanonda Foundation; Silver Medal at the Silp Phirasi Award (26th edition); 3rd Prize and Bronze Medal at the National Art Exhibition (55th edition); and the HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s Royal Cup in Painting on the theme of “Thai Education,” awarded by the Office of the Education Council. He was awarded the Gold Medal at the 23rd International Calligraphy and Painting Exchange Exhibition held at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum in 2023.
Beyond competitions, Noonan has consistently participated in exhibitions both domestically and internationally. Some of his prominent exhibitions include: “Artists United Against Corruption,” featuring the sculpture series “The Elder and the Young Man,” in collaboration with Chai Ratchawat, at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC), “NO MAN LAND,” One East Asia, Singapore, “Affordable Art Fair,” Singapore, “Nobody Left Outside: We Won’t Leave Anyone Behind” (2016), a fundraising exhibition for refugees worldwide organized by the UNHCR, “Art for Refugees” (2019) at MOCA BANGKOK, “Bhutan: A Heaven on the Roof of the World,” organized by the Vimuttayalaya Foundation to honor the Thai King and strengthen Theravada-Vajrayana relations, at EmQuartier Gallery, Bangkok, “I SEE YOU Art for SOS Children’s Village” exhibition at River City Bangkok, supporting the SOS Children’s Village Thailand, “ART AUCTIONS KMC HOSPITAL” to support the King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang Foundation at the C-ASEAN Conference Center, Bangkok, The Engineering Institute of Thailand in Lat Phrao, Bangkok, has commissioned him to design and create the sculpture “Phra Visnukam.”
Widsanupong Noonan’s solo exhibitions include The Truth of Time, The Illusion of Relationships (2010) and Love Illusion (2017). Renowned for his profound emotional resonance and worldwide influence, he persistently motivates through his significant works.
